Holmes on BAILII and Free Access to Law

Nick Holmes of infolaw has published his new interview with Sir Henry Brooke about the British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII) and its restrictions on access to case law: Judgment Day for BAILII, at the Website of the Society for Computers and Law.

Mr. Holmes has also posted a comment about the interview on his Binary Law blog — entitled BAILII: Is Free Law Enough? — to which Judith Townend has added an interesting comment.

SCL 2010: Society for Computers and Law Annual Conference

SCL 2010: The Society for Computers and Law 10th Annual Conference, will be held 15-16 October 2010 in Bath, England, UK.

The theme of the conference is software. According to the announcement, “[i]n addition to sessions on the legal issues around software the conference will consider the opportunities which emerging software products create for us to help manage our legal practices more effectively and to deliver a better service to our clients and in house customers.”
