I study legal and political communication and information. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, I conduct research on (1) how ordinary citizens communicate about law, (2) how intermediaries — such as lawyers, legal journalists, legal bloggers, legal technicians, and algorithms — communicate legal information to citizens, and (3) how legal information systems work. I also study deliberative democratic theory.
